Recreation
Numerous trails lead through the Nature Park in various directions, the Nature Park Association offers the educational trail (2,7 km), the woods trail (3,7 km) and the “Good for one’s health” trail (1,1 km).
On the repaired footbridge across the open bog area visitors may admire large numbers of sundew, whereas the peat-treading basin on the opposite side of the forest road is a hot spot especially for the youth and children (available only with guided tours!). In the south of the conservation area one can enjoy a superb view over Winkelauerteich fishpond, a declared Natura 2000 bird protection area.
“Hanging Stone“, a natural monument used by many visitors as a place of relaxation, is regarded as a special highlight. A large naturally structured playground in sight of the naturpark centre’s sun terrace is continually being developed.
With its cuisine, housemade pastries, regional products and adequate available space, the Nature Park Centre offers something for nearly everyone’s taste. The barrier-free building is bordering a spacious parking area (suitable also for buses). The centre is equipped with sanitary fittings including a babies’ changing table and a disabled toilet, a shop, a seminar room for 80 persons and a free wireless local area network (WLAN) with optical transmission speed.
